Bra Size Calculator India

Indian bra brands generally follow UK-style sizing: inch-based even-numbered bands (28, 30, 32…) with UK cup letters. This free calculator estimates your India bra size from two simple tape measurements, in inches or centimetres, in under a minute.

Here is how it works. Enter your underbust — measured snugly right under your bust — and your bust — measured around the fullest part. The calculator sets your band from the underbust and your cup from the difference between the two. Use Simple mode for the quick estimate, or Advanced mode for a refined result from six measurements.

Your result is an estimate and a starting point, never a guarantee of fit. Brands cut differently, so always check the brand’s own size chart when you can.

How to Measure for a IN Bra Size

  1. Measure your underbust. Wrap a soft tape snugly around your ribcage, directly under your bust, keeping it level all the way around.
  2. Measure your bust. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, level and firm but not tight.
  3. Enter both numbers above in inches or centimeters and press Calculate.

How IN Bra Sizing Works

Band sizes

Indian bands are numbered like US/UK bands: your underbust rounded to the nearest even inch. A 34-inch underbust gives a 34 band.

Cup sizes

Indian cup letters follow the UK progression: AA, A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, G… Each inch of difference between bust and band is roughly one cup step.

A worked example

For example, a 34-inch underbust and a 37-inch bust give an estimated 34C in India sizing.

IN Size Conversions

Closest standard equivalents at the same body size:

India follows UK cup letters, so India and UK sizes match label-for-label. US sizes match through DD, then diverge (US DDD = India/UK E).

IN Sister Sizes

Go down a band and up a cup, or up a band and down a cup, to keep a similar cup volume. For example, a 34C wearer might also try its one-band-up and one-band-down neighbours. Use our sister size calculator or read the sister sizes guide.

Common Measuring Mistakes

  • A tape that is not level. Check in a mirror that the tape runs horizontally front and back.
  • Measuring over a padded bra. Padding inflates the bust reading and the cup result.
  • Guessing instead of measuring. Bodies change; a fresh two-minute measurement beats years of habit.
  • Ignoring brand differences. The calculator gives a starting size — the brand’s own chart has the final word.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Indian bra sizes follow US or UK sizing?

Indian brands generally follow UK-style sizing: inch bands with UK cup letters (DD, E, F, FF…). So an India 34E and a UK 34E describe the same size.

Should I measure in inches or centimetres?

Either — the calculator accepts both and converts automatically. Most Indian size charts are inch-based, so inches map most directly.

What if my size is not available in local stores?

Sister sizes help: if 34E is out of stock, 32F (tighter band) or 36DD (looser band) hold a similar cup volume. Online lingerie retailers in India also carry wider ranges.

How do I know if the band fits correctly?

It should sit level around your body on the loosest hooks when new, and you should fit about two fingers underneath. If it rides up, the band is too loose.

How often should I re-measure?

Whenever the fit changes, and at least once or twice a year. Weight changes and hormonal shifts can move your size.
