Bra Size Calculator Germany

Germany uses EU sizing: centimetre bands in steps of 5 and consecutive cup letters. If you already know your EU size, you already know your German size — the labels are the same.

Sizes on this page are estimates. Sizing varies by brand and style, so always check the brand’s own size chart and try on before you buy. Nothing here is medical advice.
How to measure
You need a soft measuring tape and two minutes. Underbust: wrap the tape directly under your bust, level and snug, breathing out normally. Bust: wrap it around the fullest part, level across your back, without pressing in. Enter both numbers above, in inches or centimetres. The full steps are in the step-by-step measuring guide.
Germany bra size chart
| EU / Germany band | US band | UK band | FR band |
|---|---|---|---|
| 70 | 28 | 28 | 85 |
| 75 | 30 | 30 | 90 |
| 80 | 32 | 32 | 95 |
| 85 | 34 | 34 | 100 |
| 90 | 36 | 36 | 105 |
| 95 | 38 | 38 | 110 |
Cups run by the difference between your bust and band measurements. One inch of difference is roughly one cup step in US and UK sizing; in centimetre systems the steps are 2.5 cm.
How Germany sizing works
German brands label bands in centimetres, rounded to the nearest 5 (70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95). Cups run A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H with no doubled letters, which is the main difference from UK sizing.
A worked example
A 34-inch underbust with a 3-inch difference is a US 34C, a UK 34C, and a German 85D.
Converting to and from Germany sizes
A German 85D is a US 34C and a UK 34C in band terms — but note the cup letter changes, because the EU cup progression counts differently from the US and UK ones. Use the global converter to translate any size exactly.
Common measuring mistakes
Measuring over a padded bra lifts and compresses, giving a smaller bust reading. Measure without a bra or in a thin, unpadded one. Pulling the tape too tight underestimates the band. Letting the tape droop at the back overestimates the bust. Using an old size without re-measuring — weight, pregnancy, breastfeeding and aging all change the numbers, so re-measure every year or two.
Shopping tips for Germany
German stores, including online shops shipping to Germany, label in EU sizing. If you are buying from a UK or US brand's German site, check whether the listing shows the brand's home system or the EU conversion — the two can appear side by side.
One habit covers every system: check the system on the label, convert both the band and the cup, and try the bra on before committing to more than one. Returns are easier than a drawer full of the wrong size.
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizing system does Germany use?
German brands label bands in centimetres, rounded to the nearest 5 (70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95). Cups run A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H with no doubled letters, which is the main difference from UK sizing. If a label you are reading does not match this system, it is probably an import — convert it rather than guessing.
How do I convert my US or UK size to a Germany size?
A German 85D is a US 34C and a UK 34C in band terms — but note the cup letter changes, because the EU cup progression counts differently from the US and UK ones. Use the global converter to translate any size exactly. The global size converter does this translation for any size in one step.
What if my size is not sold, or I am between sizes?
Try a sister size: one band down and one cup up, or one band up and one cup down, keeping roughly the same cup volume. If you are between cups, start with the larger cup — you can tighten a band, but you cannot add cup volume.
Do brands in Germany vary?
Yes. Every system is a starting point, not a guarantee: band stretch, cup depth, wire width and grading vary by brand and style. Always check the brand's own chart and try on when you can.
